Anthony N. Maluccio is a graduate of Yale University and Columbia University.

He recently retired as Professor of Social Work at Boston College, where since 1992 he taught in the areas of clinical social work, social work research, and family and children’s services. He is also Professor Emeritus at the University of Connecticut, where he taught in the social work program from 1966 to 1992.

Dr. Maluccio has conducted a range of research projects in the areas of adoption, permanency planning, family foster care, and family reunification, family preservation, and residential treatment of children and youths, through grants from federal agencies, state agencies, and private foundations.

He has been a Fulbright Senior Scholar in Italy at the University of Padova and Fondazione Zancan as well as in England at the University of Oxford. He serves on the editorial boards of twelve national and international social work journals and on the boards of various national organizations related to child and family welfare. He is co-founder and co-president of our International Association.
