Before our 2006 International Seminar, the Fordham Graduate School of Social Service and The Children and Families Institute for Research, Support and Training (Children FIRST) in Collaboration with the International Association of Outcome-Based Evaluation and Research in Family and Children Services (iOBERfcs) will organise an open Conference addressing the interface between Mental Health and Child Welfare: An International Research Perspective on Child Welfare and Mental Health: Implications for Policy and Practice.
» CONFERENCE PROGRAM
The Conference will be held at Fordham University at Lincoln Center, New York City, NY on September 20, 2006. The purpose of the conference is to advance policy, practice and research in child welfare and mental health services and to focus on the critical mental health issues experienced by children and adolescents in the child welfare system from a cross-national perspective. The conference will focus on understanding the life course of children and adolescents who come into care, their mental health needs, and the means for providing mental services to this population, across the globe.
The conference will precede our 2006 iaOBERfcs Seminar at Tarrytown House, in Tarrytown, New York: Sixth International seminar on Outcome-based Evaluation in Child and Family Services – Cross-national Research Initiatives.
The seminar will begin Thursday evening, September 21st and will close on Saturday 23rd The seminar will have an open sessions on Thursday evening and Friday morning. After that there will be discussion groups among participants. Saturday morning will be devoted to the International Association agenda and developments.
